About us

We are a group of collectors and enthusiasts of Allied militaria of the Second World War era. Our aim is to recreate, as accurately as possible, a Company of the U.S. Infantry, namely the F Company of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, a.k.a. ‘The Big Red One’.

Aims

Easy Red is a reenactment group whose main aim is to set up reenactment performances in which the daily routine of a WWII GI may be recreated.

Uniforms

Every member of Easy Red must be in possession of both a uniform and equipment, genuine or replica, according to those of the GI of the WW2 period.

Activities

Easy Red takes part in reenactment activities all over Spain, as well as modeling shows and other related events. We also do research into the history of the 1st Infantry Division. We maintain a regular contact with foreign reenactment groups devoted to the same unit. On top of that, Easy Red publishes a quaterly newsletter, which every member of the group receives at no cost whatsoever.

Ideology

Since Easy Red takes after a real military unit, both a military hierarchy and symbolism are mandatory if historical accuracy wants to be achieved. Nevertheless, be it known that such are adopted just for the sake of our performative activities and a profound democratic spirit prevails in the group. Furthermore, any military symbol (i.e. flags, badges, etc.) must be considered an essential part of the attrezzo we need for the aforementioned historical accuracy of our performances.

Easy Red attaches to no political ideology and openly refuses war as an adequate method of settling disputes between nations. Accordingly, any derogatory or offensive expression, public or private, towards other members of Easy Red and/or of any other reenactment group is completely forbidden.

The members of Easy Red are bound by a duty of memory towards the soldiers who fought for the freedom we enjoy today, often at their lives’ price. Respect and seriousness are our group’s flag.
